Why Patients in Plano Choose Visionary Eye

Dr. Shehz Is in the Room

You meet him at your consultation. He’s the one performing your procedure. No passing you to another surgeon or technician partway through. The person who listens to your concerns is the same person with their hands steady and focused on your vision.

Educate, Don’t Sell

If you’re not a candidate for LASIK, Dr. Shehz will tell you. If another procedure fits your eyes better, he’ll explain why. The goal is the right choice for your vision, not the highest price tag.

Transparent Pricing

No insurance runaround. No hidden fees tacked on at checkout. Cash-pay pricing that’s clear from the start, so you know exactly what you’re investing in your vision.

One for One Giving

For every paying patient, Visionary Eye provides sight-saving care for someone in need. Your procedure helps restore vision in underserved communities around the world.

20/Happy Guarantee

If you’re not satisfied with your results, we work with you until you are. This is about your trust in us, and that trust matters more than a signature on a waiver.

Your Surgeon, Not a Sales Team

I built Visionary Eye Surgery from the ground up because I wanted to practice the way I believe eye care should work: surgeon-centered, patient-first, no institutional overhead clouding the decisions.

I grew up knowing I wanted to operate. That weight matters to me. When someone trusts you with their vision, you don’t take shortcuts.

I’m Dr. Shehzad Batliwala, DO. I trained in ophthalmology at the Dean McGee Eye Institute, where I was the first Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine admitted to their MD residency program. I’ve contributed research to Ophthalmology Times, won the Best Original Research Award at Millennial Eye Live, and worked on space flight-associated ocular syndrome research for NASA.

I’ve also spent time doing humanitarian eye surgery missions through the Khan Ohana Foundation in Gaza, because vision is fundamental to everything else.

But what matters to you isn’t my credentials. It’s what I do with them in that consultation room and operating suite. Phone off. Full attention. Your questions answered clearly. And if I recommend a procedure, it’s because it’s right for your eyes.

Procedures We Offer in Plano

LASIK in Plano

All-laser LASIK uses precise laser technology to reshape your cornea and correct nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism. Most patients see clearly within a day and return to normal activity quickly.

SMILE LASIK in Plano

SMILE is a minimally invasive laser vision correction that creates a small incision instead of a large flap. It’s popular with patients who have dry eyes or play contact sports.

EVO ICL in Plano

The EVO Implantable Collamer Lens is a premium option for high prescriptions or thin corneas where LASIK isn’t ideal. It’s placed inside your eye, delivers sharp vision, and is removable if needed.

ASA (Advanced PRK) in Plano

Advanced Surface Ablation is a surface-based laser procedure with no flap, ideal for specific corneal conditions. Recovery takes longer than LASIK, but many patients find it the right fit.

Custom Lens Replacement in Plano

CLR addresses presbyopia by replacing your natural lens with a premium implant that gives you clear vision at all distances. Designed for patients over 40 who want less dependence on reading glasses.

Premium Cataract Surgery in Plano

Cataracts cloud your natural lens. We remove the cloudy lens and implant a premium artificial lens chosen for your lifestyle. Many patients also correct their prescription during this procedure.

Dry Eye Treatment in Plano

Dry eyes can blur vision and make contact lenses uncomfortable. We offer diagnostic testing and targeted treatments to restore comfortable vision.

MIGS in Plano

Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgery lowers eye pressure with a gentler approach than traditional surgery. It’s often paired with cataract surgery.

Corneal Cross-Linking in Plano

Cross-linking halts keratoconus progression by strengthening corneal tissue. It’s a vision-saving procedure for patients whose cornea has started to thin or cone.

What to Expect at Your Consultation

You’ll spend 30 to 45 minutes with Dr. Shehz and our team. No rushing. No sales pitch. Here’s what happens.

Your Vision Assessment
We run comprehensive tests: visual acuity, corneal mapping, pupil size, tear production, and more. These tests show us exactly what your eyes need.

The Conversation
Dr. Shehz sits down and talks with you about your vision goals. What bothers you most? Do you work at a computer all day? Do you play sports? Your lifestyle shapes the recommendation.

The Honest Assessment
If you’re an ideal LASIK candidate, he’ll say so. If ICL or CLR makes more sense, he’ll explain why. If surgery isn’t right for you, he’ll tell you that too. His job is to protect your vision, not protect revenue.

Cost and Timeline
You’ll see the transparent price, understand what’s included, and know exactly when your procedure would be scheduled. No surprise fees. No upselling.

Your Questions
Ask anything. Pain? Recovery? Complications? Longevity? He answers directly. You’ll leave the room informed, not overwhelmed.

Transparent Pricing. No Surprises.

We price our procedures fairly and show you exactly what you’re paying for. No insurance claims to file. No deductibles to meet. No surprise balance bill in the mail.

This transparency means you can make a clear decision about your care without guessing what it will actually cost. Financing options are available for most procedures.

If cost is a concern, say so at your consultation. We’ll talk through your options and work with you to find a path forward.

Frequently Asked Questions About Eye Surgery in Plano, TX

How much does LASIK cost in Plano?

LASIK pricing depends on the technology used and your specific vision needs. During your consultation, we provide a clear all-in cost with no hidden fees. We also offer financing options to make vision correction accessible.

Am I a candidate for LASIK?

Most adults over 18 with a stable prescription are candidates, but your cornea thickness, prescription strength, and overall eye health matter. Dr. Shehz runs detailed tests during your consultation and gives you an honest answer.

Does LASIK hurt?

No. We numb your eyes with drops, so you won’t feel pain during the procedure. You’ll feel mild pressure and see bright light, but not discomfort. Most patients say the anxiety beforehand was worse than the actual experience.

How long is recovery after LASIK?

Vision typically improves within the first 24 hours. Most patients return to normal activity after a day or two, though we ask you to avoid pools and intense exercise for a week.

What’s the difference between LASIK and ICL?

LASIK reshapes your cornea with a laser. ICL implants a lens inside your eye without changing the cornea. LASIK is faster and more common for moderate prescriptions. ICL is better for very high prescriptions, thin corneas, or if you want a reversible option.

At what age should I consider cataract surgery?

Cataracts develop when your natural lens becomes cloudy. Most people notice symptoms in their 60s or 70s, but some develop them earlier. If your vision is getting hazy, colors look faded, or night driving feels harder, it’s worth getting evaluated.

Do you work with insurance?

We’re a cash-pay practice, which means simpler, more transparent pricing for you. We provide documentation you can submit to your insurance if your plan covers elective procedures, but we don’t file claims directly.

What makes Visionary Eye different from other LASIK centers in Plano?

Dr. Shehz is in the room from start to finish. He’s not a production-line surgeon. You get his full attention, his honest assessment, and his surgical skill. We also prioritize patient education over sales, offer a 20/Happy guarantee, and support sight-saving care through our one-for-one giving model.
